OUR VISION

Redefining a
Shared Narrative

T

Project Dosti is a student-led initiative born out of the Stanford Indo-Pak Dosti Forum. It brings together young Indians and Pakistanis, across universities, disciplines, and borders, into shared spaces of dialogue, collaboration, and action.

Through classes, conferences, and public conversations, Dosti reimagines India-Pakistan engagement from the ground up: not as a distant diplomatic abstraction, but as a lived, human project shaped by a generation that has inherited the consequences of partition without authoring its terms.

he history of the subcontinent has long been written in division. Project Dosti exists to imagine what comes after.

Our activities and initiatives

The Dosti Conference

The Dosti Conference is our flagship annual gathering at Stanford University, bringing together students, scholars, policymakers, and practitioners from India, Pakistan, and the diaspora.

The conference centers student-led Track II diplomacy, pairing serious dialogue with research, culture, and community-building to imagine what pragmatic cooperation could look like in practice.

Dosti Classes

Dosti Classes are small, discussion-driven learning spaces where Indian and Pakistani students at Stanford University engage deeply with history, politics, identity, and cooperation.

These sessions prioritize slow thinking, shared inquiry, and difficult conversations - creating room for nuance where inherited narratives often collapse complexity.

Our cultural and collaborative events use food, art, storytelling, and shared experience as entry points into dialogue.

Through partnerships with student groups and cultural organizations, these gatherings create informal spaces where connection feels human, accessible, and grounded - often over chai, music, or conversation.
